Post-Op

The best part of any surgical procedure is going home to familiar surroundings. We will provide a written summary of important instructions for you to take home.

It is important that you follow these post-operative instructions.

  • You must have a family member, close friend or responsible adult drive you home. They will be asked to sign a document when arriving so that we can be assured of your comfort and safety.
  • Plan to have someone stay with you for 24 hours.
  • Get plenty of rest for the first 24 hours following surgery.

Since it is normal to feel drowsy after receiving an anesthetic, we urge you to refrain from the following activities for 24 hours:

  • Driving or operating any equipment
  • Signing any important papers
  • Making significant decisions
  • Drinking alcoholic beverages
